Payment Information

Payment information (credit card number, expiration date, CVV) is collected securely through our payment processor (Stripe). LockerUp does not store complete credit card information on our servers.

Access Logs and Security

We maintain access logs recording when you enter and exit your locker, which door was accessed, and the timestamp. This information is used for security and to prevent unauthorized access to the facility.

Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience, remember your preferences, and analyze usage patterns. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Surveillance

Our facility is protected by 24/7 HD surveillance cameras. Video footage is retained for 30 days and is used solely for security and loss prevention purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Processing and managing your rental account
Communicating with you about your account, billing, and service updates
Verifying your identity and preventing fraud
Improving our facilities, services, and customer experience
Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our agreements

Maintaining facility security and investigating incidents

3. Third-Party Sharing

LockerUp does not sell your personal information. However, we share information with trusted third parties who assist us in providing services:

Stripe: Payment processor that securely handles credit card transactions
SendGrid: Email service provider for account notifications and communications
Seam: Smart lock provider that manages keycode access and access logs
Built-in e-Sign: Digital lease signing integrated directly into the platform

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or government request, and to protect against fraud or security threats.

4. Data Security

LockerUp implements industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption, secure servers, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your rental account is active. After account closure, we retain information as required by law (typically 3-7 years for tax and legal compliance). Access logs are retained for 30 days; surveillance video is retained for 30 days and then deleted.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Access and Correction

You have the right to access your personal information and request corrections if inaccurate.

Data Portability

You may request a copy of your personal information in a portable format.

Deletion

You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.

Opt-Out

You may opt out of promotional emails and marketing communications at any time through your account settings or by replying "UNSUBSCRIBE" to any marketing email.

7. Children's Privacy

LockerUp does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. Storage units are rented exclusively to individuals 18 years or older. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete such information and the parent or guardian will be notified.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including:

The right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used
The right to access your personal information
The right to request deletion of personal information
The right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information
The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights
